It’s all for a good cause!

After living here for some time and experiencing the impact of western civilisation on a developing country, we realise something needs to be done to assist the local environment. Plates made of banana leaves could be discarded immediately after eating, but plastic and polystyrene food containers cannot. Unfortunately most of this comes down to education, but with a little help this can change!

Not only do we actively participate in beach cleanups, we strive to do more to help the local education system and trash crisis!

Where does this money go?

Trash hero

While solving the global waste problem may be complex, knowing what to do about the garbage that is currently littered on our beaches and in our communities is relatively simple: pick it up.

What’s the idea? With the support of local businesses, people come together once a week to pick up trash (donated resources + volunteers = cleaner environments).

Does it work? As of 30 June 2019, Trash Hero have mobilised 230,190 volunteers to remove 1,164,370 of litter in 11 countries worldwide. Their goal for the next three years is to engage with more than 500,000 new Trash Heroes through events in 250 locations across the globe. An estimated 3000 tons of trash will be cleaned during these events, and the positive messages on social media channels will reach millions of people additionally.
